Cancellation under the Distance Selling Regulations

If you have ordered and taken delivery of your vehicle without visiting our showroom and you are not buying the car in the course of your trade or business or obtaining it on hire-purchase finance, the following cancellation clause applies:

  • For reasons of fraud prevention, we are only able to deliver to your home address and, prior to arranging delivery, will require a proof of your current address to be sent to us. This proof can be any of the following (drivers licence / bank statement / utility bill) and must be dated within the last 90 days.
  • Upon receipt of your vehicle it is imperative that you fully inspect its physical condition. Once you have signed to accept the vehicle we will, unfortunately, not accept liability for any damage which was not noted during your vehicles delivery.
  • You have 14 days to get to know your new vehicle and to make sure it suits you. If you change your mind just let us know in writing by post Maghull Garages Limited. Unit 1G, Sefton Lane Industrial Estate, Maghull, Merseyside. L31 8BX or in email to sales@mglcars.co.uk to reach us by 6pm on the 14th day following delivery and return the vehicle for a refund.
  • The vehicle must be returned to us in a clean condition and during business hours within 48 hours of you requesting the refund.
  • We will not be responsible for the cost of you returning the vehicle to us. You must make your own arrangements for return of the vehicle, in doing so, accept full liability for the vehicle until it is returned to us.
  • Upon receiving your vehicle, we will inspect the vehicle to ensure it is in the same condition as when it left. Your right to cancel is lost if the vehicle has been damaged, modified or altered from the condition it was delivered in.
  • If you do change your mind you must still tax and insure the vehicle until it is returned to us.
  • To receive a full refund a maximum additional mileage of 100 miles from the recorded delivery mileage is allowed. If you cover any additional distance, then you will be charged an excess mileage charge of £2.00 + VAT per mile travelled in the car since you have taken ownership.
  • If we intend to make any deductions from your final refund amount then you will be made aware of that amount prior to the refund.
  • Your refund will be made within 14 days of the vehicle being returned to us.
  • During the time you own the vehicle, you are liable as the user of the vehicle for any road traffic offences which are notified to us as the registered keeper of the vehicle together with any penalties applied by law for the commission of any such offences.
  • These terms and conditions do not affect your statutory rights.
